Reiki
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that aims to promote relaxation, stress reduction, and overall well-being. It operates on the belief that a life force energy flows through us and is responsible for our physical, emotional, and mental health. During a Reiki session, a practitioner uses their hands to direct this energy into the recipient's body, either by lightly touching or hovering over specific areas.
What to expect from a Reiki session can vary based on individual experiences, but some common aspects include relaxation, sensations of warmth, tingling or gentle vibrations in areas being treated, a sense of peace or emotional release, emotional and mental wellbeing
Reiki can promote emotional healing and balance. It may help alleviate stress, anxiety, or negative emotions, fostering a sense of inner peace and clarity. For many, it can provide a sense of physical relief, reducing pain, promoting healing, and supporting the body's natural self-healing processes.
Each person's response to Reiki can vary. Some may have profound experiences, while others may have subtle effects. It's important to approach Reiki with an open mind and without specific expectations.
Reiki does not diagnose or treat specific medical conditions, and it is not a substitute for professional medical care. It is often used as a complementary therapy to support overall well-being.
Recent scientific research in this area indicates that during Reiki therapy, there is often a change of activity in the brain, activating Alpha waves, Theta waves and even delta Waves. In each of these states we can enjoy benefits to holistic health.
